Harbour View Hotel

Elegant Georgian houses on the left,Sydney Harbour ahead,Harbour Bridge to the right;this Art Deco pub doesn't need food to make it a charmer. There's a posh restaurant upstairs,but then you'd miss out on meeting the engaging locals in the ground-floor bar,one of whom even clears your plates away when you've finished'because I used to work in a cafe'. The seafood platter vanished in a few minutes,the oysters unusually plump and briny-fresh for a pub. The $10 sirloin steak (Mondays and Tuesdays only) is hard to beat,while the date and walnut pudding vanished in a jiffy and the cheese plate was served at room temperature.
